The work was done in collaboration with the audience. Two round fish bowls were placed on a table, 20 eggs were placed inside one of the bowls. One audience was invited to collaborate at a time. After observing the audience, I would use an egg to make movements, sounds, gestures, or ‘something’ together with the audience. It is an open process where the audience’s direct participation and action will change the process. Then I ask the person ‘what is this?’. The audience member is asked to write the answer on the egg and to do whatever he/she wants with the egg. The performance is constructed together with the audience in the process. At times I am acting out my own intentions on the audiences, at times I am only an agent working for the audience. The best moment for me is when the audience and I both actively give ourselves in the interartion yet also remain very open to each others action that help each other move towards an unknowns state- when both/none of us is making the performance, a state of active passivity. Towards the end of the work, I leave the table and invite someone from the audience to take my seat and continue the work. Some ‘interartions’ include: put the egg into the empty bowl, put the egg into their mouths, throw the egg at the audiences, drink the egg, dance with the egg, rub the egg on the breast, roll the egg under the clothes, smash the egg unto the wall, bring the egg back home, use the egg as a phone, egg massage.... Some answers: egg, home, life, communication, experiment, art, fun, sex, bomb, baby, love, waste....
